From August 2018, over seven months, NPD Limited completed the “STEG International Services 220KV TRANS”
project in Bugesera District, which focused on developing and enhancing a 220kV transmission network, to improve
electrical infrastructure and energy distribution in the region. This project has increased the reliability and efficiency
of electricity transmission, meeting Rwanda’s growing energy demands in its economic development.
By upgrading existing transmission lines and installing new ones, the project ensured better connectivity between
power generation sites and consumption areas, reducing power losses and enhancing grid stability. The scope of work included
the design, construction, and commissioning of high-voltage transmission lines, substations, and associated infrastructure,
ultimately fostering sustainable growth and energy security in the region.
