NPD Ltd is a well-established civil engineering and construction company in Rwanda, with over 25 years of experience in delivering practical and innovative solutions to its clients.

NPD COTRACO Ltd was the result of a merger between two entities, COTRACO s.a.r.l. and Nyarutarama Property Developers (NPD) s.a.r.l. Prior to the merger, COTRACO focused solely on the provision of prefabricated concrete products.NPD Ltd was established in 1996 as a Kigali based property developer specializing in the development of housing estates. The combined expertise of these organizations has granted NPD Ltd. a profound understanding of civil engineering works and geographically specific needs.

Mr. Jean-Claude Karayenzi is the current Executive Chairman of Crystal Ventures Limited (CVL), a visionary executive leader with a proven track record in strategic planning, innovation, and fostering excellence in multinational organizations.

EDUCATION

Jean-Claude is fluent in English, French, Swahili, and Kinyarwanda and holds educational credentials from reputable institutions, including an Undergraduate degree in Business Administration-Finance from The George Washington University, an MBA in Accounting from Strayer University, and a PD in Digital Business from Columbia Business School.

EXPERIENCE

He is renowned for his deep understanding of African trade dynamics, and leading high-impact projects that include expanding Access Bank Plc into Eastern and Southern Africa and introducing digital solutions.

He is a skilled mentor and coach, known for developing high-performing teams for multimillion-dollar portfolios across Africa.

He has in 22 years of being in the financial services sector, amassed experience as a seasoned banker and investment professional, and through the process has served and serves as a key resource person on several public and private Boards, Committees and Task Forces.

EDUCATION

He holds a Doctorate in Business Leadership from the SMC University, MSc Degree in Finance and Banking from Cardiff University (UK) and a BSc Degree in Economics from the National University of Rwanda, all completed with distinctions.

Jack has won different accolades including Forbes Africa Young Business Leader of the year 2012, The East Africa All Africa Business Leaders Award. He is a fellow of the World Economic Forum.

EXPERIENCE

He began his career as an Economist in the Ministry of Finance and Economic Planning. He later joined the Rwanda Development Bank as Head of Credit, later as Deputy C.E.O, and in 2009 he was appointed as the Bank C.E.O, a position he served at for 4 years. Jack left the Rwanda Development Bank in 2013 and joined Crystal Ventures Ltd as the Executive Chairman. In 2016, he was appointed as the C.E.O of Agaciro Development Fund (Rwanda’s Sovereign Wealth Fund). He, in March 2020, returned back to Crystal Ventures Ltd. as the Executive Chairman for 2 years, and in March 2022 he was nominated as Crystal Ventures Group CEO.

Acting Managing Director NPD

Frank Rukundo is an accomplished professional with over 15 years of experience in budgeting, policy analysis, business planning, and project and financial management. He holds a degree in Accounting Sciences from the National University of Rwanda, a Postgraduate Diploma in Purchase Management from Maastricht School of Management in the Netherlands, and a dual MBA in Operations and Human Resource Management from the Indian Institute of Commerce and Trade.
Throughout his career, Frank has held various leadership roles. He began his professional journey in 2007, serving in government institutions such as ORTPN and the Rwanda Development Board for three years. His career further expanded with 12 years of experience at Crystal Ventures Limited (CVL), where he served as Group Corporate Services Director before being appointed Managing Director of East African Granite Industries Limited. Currently, Frank brings his extensive leadership expertise to NPD Ltd., driving strategic initiatives and operational excellence.
